A shared hosting plan means that your web site will share server resources, such as disk space and bandwidth with other web sites. Shared web hosting is not a bad thing. In fact, almost all web hosting plans are shared hosting. One of the primary benefits of shared hosting is lower monthly web hosting fees. Even though you are sharing a server with other users it is unlikely you will ever know they are there. Depending on the web hosting service, it is possible that one or more users will could consume more than their share of server resources which could slow the server or cause other stability problems. However, most hosting services employ overuse protections to prevent this from happening.
